Home    Spark Program

The EchoLink Spark Program consists of a dedicated server located at a data center in Dallas Texas and the

Spark client application that runs on any PC.  Current capabilities include voice, data, video and landline services.

Our current configuration and call in number (1-469-718-7383) can field 8 calls simultaneously.

Calls can be answered and/or transfered to/from any member located anywhere in the world.

Outbound calls can be made by any member to anywhere in the world and can be conferenced or transfered.

Video conferencing is available one on one or groups of 12.  File transfer is secure and unlimited providing

rapid document deployment.  Our database is fast and secure. Connections are encrypted using 128 bit SSL.

It is the intentions of the staff of the *DODROPIN* conference server to deploy these resorces into the

hands of the Ham Radio community. It is important that a system be in place and practiced should a need arise.

It is important that the steps outlined in the Getting Started section be followed to insure a trouble free installation.

Getting Started

First we must install or update our current version of Java and Flash

Now we are ready to download and install Spark

After starting the application click "Accounts" in the lower left part of the application window.

Enter your callsign in lower case and choose a password then confirm it.

Enter the server name "dodropin.org" then click "Create Account". The application will then log in to the server.

Next import all the plugins by clicking the Spark tab/ Plugins/ Available Plugins

Next download the Red5 Plugin to C:\Program Files\Spark\plugins

Now restart the Spark Application

Next you must add Contacts by clicking the add contacts icon near the upper left and press enter.

You now have voice and data connection with at least one staff member who can help you set up the video and telephone.

Extension and phone numbers are assigned by the server and will appear on application restart.
